AMBITION IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS
SUCCESS
SAMINA IS NOT JUST ANY ATHLETE
Samina Baig hails from Shimshal village in Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan in Pakistan. In 2013, she became the first Pakistani woman to summit Mount Everest, a feat she achieved at the age of just 21 without receiving any formal training.

Three years prior to this milestone she scaled the Chashkin Sar peak while wearing shoes bought from a secondhand bazaar for less than $5.00 (Rs. 250). Sounds unreal, but such was her passion and conviction, that she did not allow the lack of good gear to stand in the way of her ambition to become an accomplished mountaineer.

Climbing the Savage Mountain
In July 2022, Samina Baig became the first muslim and Pakistani woman to ever summit the world's second highest mountain, K2, aptly known as the “Savage Mountain” and one of the deadliest peaks to climb at 8612 metres. K2 is a challenge for every mountaineer and remains the most coveted peak to climb.
It is estimated that between one in four or five K2 summiteers die on the mountain.

By the age of 22, she had scaled the Seven Summits, a collective name given to the highest peaks in all seven continents of the world. Samina became the first Pakistani Muslim woman to achieve this, and one of the youngest in the history of mountaineering.

the explorer's grand slam
After the successful completion of conquering the seven summits, Samina is all set to achieve the ultimate feat of all in Mountaineering – The Explorer’s Grand Slam, where the goal now is to reach the North and South Poles, as well.
Samina is well into this journey, and aims to summit North Pole before the summer of 2025 and the South Pole by Dec 2025.
